CCC challenge: Make Your Own Flowers

I got a little time to stamp today.  The boys are out playing in the yard (it's beeeee-yoooo-tiful here today. ... Almost 70) and the hubster is busy hooking up the TV in the movie room.  Everyone once in a while he'll call me to go in and check out what he's figured out but essentially ... I'm all alone! (hysterical giggle)  Can you tell that "mommy' time is scarce on the weekend?

I needed a birthday card for my niece, Kelsey.  I know that you can't believe from my youthful picture ... but I am a great-aunt.  But the reason for this card is that my niece is a GREAT mom.  I am so impressed with her ability to be a mom, a social worker and a fantastic wife.  Love her lots.

I pinned this very phrase to my pinterest account and LOVED it.  I just used the computer to print it and off I went.

Even though Creative Card Crew's "linky" thingee is closed, I still used this fortnight's flower challenge.

SSW203-44: Bugaboo

Well hello there!

What a week it's been.   So far our dopey puppy has destroyed a cup, gnawed a TV remote control, pulled an escape act (twice) and knocked over the youngest causing him skin his knee.  I can see those behavior classes ARE certainly paying off!!  Sigh.

But in better news, this week we have another GREAT sketch on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog AND another great sponsor ...  it's Jodie from Bugaboo.  It's my favorite combination!

This sketch is a blast from the past.  If you want to see what the DT in 2010 did with this sketch, click here.

This week Jodie is offering her usual AMAZING prize of seven (7!!) digis for the winner this week.

Here's a bit more about Jodie:

Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.

Remember, in order to be eligible for this week's prize, you must comment on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog.  Good luck!

Seems a Little Sketchy #37

I couldn't sleep last night.  And after an hour or so of listening to my hubby saw logs,  the dog and I mosied down to the craft area to at least be productive.   I needed another thank you card.  Since I loved the sketch from "Seems a Little Sketchy"  this week, I decided to use that.

I didn't notice that my stripes were uneven until AFTER I had sewed them down.  Whoops!  Oh well, I'm blaming sleep deprevation!

Have a great week.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Yay ... it's Friday!  Soooo ready for some extra sleep.

As soon as I saw this sentiment in the Create with TLC store, I knew that I had to have it.  What a fun store ... I went in search of a friend's freebie image and came way with a TON of sentiments.  Coupled with my JJ image from Bugaboo, this card came together in a snap!
I made this card for a friend's birthday.  Let's just say that we both are "choosy moms" and go with that!  I used this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch.  It's a really fun and user friendly sketch.  I will definitely use this one again.

I also wanted to show you guys my neighborhood.  I snapped this on the way to drop the kids off.  Look, clear skies!!  Most of this snow should melt today and tomorrow and maybe we can get down to the business of Spring!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

SSW202-Digistamp Boutique

It's Wednesday, April 17th and we still ... have snow.  We're supposed to get even more dumped on the city around 4:30, just in time for rush hour.  Dear Spring?  Where are you?  I miss you!! Sincerely, Me (and probably the rest of Colorado too!)

But in other news, it IS Wednesday and that means another sketch challenge from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog.

This week our sponsor is Sally-Ann from Digistamp Boutique.  I chose "Murphy" who is about as cute as they come!

A little more from Sally-Ann:

My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too - often the inspiration for my designs. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy creating.

Sally-Ann is offering up 6 free digis as the prize this week.

We hope to see YOUR contribution to the blog this week!  Don't forget to comment on the blog so that you can be eligible for this fantastic prize.

It's Your Birthday ... Milk it!

Tuesday was a snow day for us here in Colorado so I spent part of it working on some cards.

I had the whole day to play and then struggled with mojo.  I puttered around, hanging pictures, sewing, and finally ended up cleaning for a large part of the day.  Wha ....?  I know, essentially I wasted a perfectly good snow day!

I'm still trying to finish my quilt.  I love quilting but gotta say that hand-sewing the binding really stinks.  So I have no mojo, a hole in my finger (because I can't find my thimble) and three iffy cards.

Can I have a snow-day do over?!!

SSW201: Stamp Fairy

Morning friends.

This week on Sweet Sketch Wednesday we have a fantastic sponsor.  It's Gerda from Stamp Fairy!  I love her stuff!  I chose to use "Pig Umbrella"  This little piggie is sooo stinking cute. I have a thing for both pigs and rain stamps, how could I NOT choose this image?!!

I am all into making my cards 3-dimensional lately (I suppose I need to step AWAY from the pop dots for my next card!)  I ended up using three images.  One for the base and then one for the pig and then another for the umbrella.  It makes for such a cute card in the end.

A little more about Gerda:
"Stamp Fairy officially launched on November 5th 2010. Gerda Burghardt, artist and owner, creates cute and whimsical digital images for the young and old, inspired by her life, love and 4 cute cats. You will find adorable teddies bears, young boys and girls, fuzzy little bunnies and whimsical critters. Stamp Fairy has new releases along with a free image in every new set published weekly on Fridays. Please visit the store and browse StampFairy’s wonderful images. We hope StampFairy’s images inspire YOUR creativity."

We'd love to see what you can do with this week's sketch!  Gerda is offering a $10 gift certificate to the winner of this week's challenge.

Secret Sister MIS March

I'm almost on time for this one ... it's April 7th and this is the image from March.  I can't be on-time to save my life as most everyone who knows me is aware.  Patti was the hostess and gave us this cute image from Stampin Up to work with this month.

I WISH I were the cat in this picture, just lounging in the sun but alas no.  It seems like there is always laundry, work or housework to do.

Hope your Sunday is relaxing.

Holy Batman!!!

I wanted to share with you another card I made for Sweet Sketch Wednesday's current sketch challenge.  I really wanted to use a star background for my CB folder but with all the thousands of folder's that I own, apparently I do NOT have stars.  I may have to change that and soon (because I'm pretty sure that they've MADE one!!)

Today is the last day of our Spring Break so all the little things that we've put off (homework, laundry, housecleaning) Blah!  Hope your week is fantastic.

SSW200: Doodle Garden

Happy Wednesday

Welcome back to the sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  We have a great new sketch for you to try this week and a fantastic sponsor.  It's Jenn from the Doodle Garden

Hi all!  Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little bit about the gal behind The Doodle Garden digis!  I'm Jennifer L Nilsson (but please, call me Jenn or Jenna!). And I am blessed to be able to work full-time from home as a licensed artist.

I enjoy creating bright whimsical pieces for manufacturers, but also wanted to be able to offer something to those who like to craft. So I have begun my journey with digi-stamp designs with my Etsy shop: The Doodle Garden.  It's fairly new, but is growing pretty fast and I am SOOO enjoying creating these little whimsies for YOU!

The prize this week is 5 single digis (sets are not included) from Jenn's etsy shop.

I made this card for a young nephew so I used a spring underneath the monkey.  You can't tell from the picture but he jiggles like jell-o when the card is moved.  I don't know if my nephew will like it but my son couldn't STOP touching it!!

I like the springs but I wish that they sold them in smaller sizes.  I barely fit the spring underneath him (I had to do some creative cutting and if you look carefully at the photo, you can still see a bit of the plastic near his ear)

I still like him.  Don't forget to leave a comment on the blog so you can win!
