SSW2: Lacy Sunshine

It's Wednesday and not counting today, there are only 2 more days of school.  Can you tell that my boys are not the ONLY ones who's counting 'til the end?!!

But Wednesday also means it's time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have the return of Heather from Lacy Sunshine.  I'm using her image: Eleanor Hippie Chick for my card.  I just loved her crazy glasses.

Our winner this week will get 3 (three) free digi images from Heather's shop.  We hope that you will play along.

You're Tweet

I can hear the pitter-patter of rain on my roof telling me that I should have mowed the lawn earlier when there was a break in the weather ... buuuuut, I didn't wanna.  With all the rain we've had (almost 6 inches this month), my lawn is practically a jungle.

Instead, I worked on my card using the From the Heart progressive challenge image.  It's a pretty good deal.  All you have to do is purchase the first image and the next images will automatically appear in your e-mail, once a month.  I'm not a big fan of flowers on my cards, but I DO like this image quite a bit.  I will definitely use it again.

I'm using the sketch from the Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I just rotated it to fit my image.

SSW2-55: DigiStamp Boutique

Howdy friends.

Didja get that ... my farm joke?!!  OK, I admit, it was weak!  It's another Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we are sponsored by the wonderful Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.

I chose to use Sally-Ann's Cute Farm Set.  It's a pretty versatile set since it comes with 14 images and 7 sentiments. That being said, I used a Hambo sentiment because it fit the type of card I needed to send out this week.  I know that I will definitely use this set quite a bit ... I love farm animal images for some strange reason!

Sally-Ann is offering our winner a £10 voucher to her store. You will find LOTS of great stuff in her store (including stuff that is completely unrelated to farming and animals!)  Hope to see you join in the fun this week.

I'm also submitting this card to Jeannie's Cowgirl Up challenge.  This is about as Cowgirl as I get Jeannie.  With my love of glitter and pink, I'm about as city-girl as they come!

SSW2-Sami Stamps

It was about 10:30 at night a few nights ago when my sweetie turned to me and said, "I think we need to go outside and knock the snow off the trees."

Cuddled up on the sofa, in my favorite pajamas and nubby socks, with the dog in my lap my response was less than enthusiastic.

"What?  Now?"  So we didn't go out.

Aaaaand the heavy, wet snow pulled down two trees (for which I will bear the responsibility, at least in my husband's eyes, for the rest of my life!)  We replanted one (just shoved it back in the ground) and the other had just lost a limb.  We put the equivalent of a tree band-aid on it and called it good.  Note to self, when hubby says "head outside" (even tho it's freezy-squeezy out there) I should (insert heavy sigh) just go.

In other news, it's Wednesday and time for another sketch challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  We are sponsored by Sami Stamps this week.  I used her Mistletoe Mermaid to make a birthday card.  We'd love to see you join in the fun.  Our winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to the Sami Stamps shop.

My printer is dying and refuses to draw heavy card stock through it so I'm making due with lighter paper.  It's causing my copics to bleed.  My mermaid's hair is muddy and it's really irritating me.  Buuuut after the tree fiasco .... I don't see the hubster wanting to buy me another!

Catch The Bug 309

We were challenged this month by Susie-Q to use Art Impressions.  I love me some AI so finding a stamp was pretty easy.  This time, I'm using their Big Mouth Bertha.  Isn't she a hoot?!!  The inside says, "It's your birthday, smile while you have teeth."

Phew, what a challenge this stamp was!  I don't do well with written instructions.  I'm more of a visual- kinesthetic learner and would have done much better with a tutorial (hint, hint AI: get on that!)  I had to read the instructions MORE than once to get the mouth to move.

I'm using the sketch from over at Catch the Bug.   It was a great lay-out and perfect for this stamp.

Here she is with her mouth open

SSW2-53: Bugaboo

I've had QUITE the critter experience in the last few days here at the house.  A few days ago we had a skunk in the backyard area (not really a "yard, yard" since it isn't fenced) AND a wasp in the laundry room.  The wasp had me freaked out more to be honest.  Then yesterday, we had a herd of deer hanging out (making my dog COMPLETELY crazy in the house).  I tried to get pictures of everything (well, except the wasp) but they were NOT cooperating!  Here is the only one I could snap before the animal mosied out of the frame.

But in other news, this week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 we are once again being sponsored by Jodi and the gang over at Bugaboo. One of my absolute favorite sponsors (OK, I know, I say that about all of them but seriously!)  As usual, Jodie is offering her usual AMAZING prize of seven, yep (7!!) digis to our grand pooh-bah winner.

There are SO many cute images in Jodi's store.  This week I used one of her new elephants: Birthday Elephant.  How stinkin cute is he?!!

Go leave some love for my fellow DT members on their blogs.  This week, they knocked it out of the ballpark.

Hope to see you play.
