From The Heart Progressive: June

Once again I am squeaking this one in ... 7 hours and 30 minutes before the collection for the Progressive challenge closes.  Plenty of time!!

This is Prickles (get it, because he is a porcupine) and he's popping by to say, "Hello."  He's the From the Heart image that I needed to use.  From the Heart has a progressive challenge ... each time you use the Stamp of the Month, the next month's image is e-mailed to you for FREE!  Who doesn't like getting free stuff?

I'm also using the sketch from over at Bugaboo.  I liked how clean and simple it was .... perfect for spotlighting this little cutie.

SSW2: Sweet Pea rewind

It's another Wednesday and that means challenge time over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have a new sponsor: Sweet Pea Stamps

We are having a rewind of an old sketch.  It's a great one and still works well.  I'm using Connie Fong's sweet Spring Flowers for my card.  I needed a sympathy card and I think this works well for this.

I hope you can join in the fun.

I also wanted to show you some pictures from my trip to Alaska.  The hubs and I agreed that we could  "totally live there!"  The only thing that was a bit of a drawback: the extreme temperatures and the whole daylight until 11:30 at night thing!  We wanted to see the Northern Lights buuut we were there in the wrong season.  Oh well.

This is Harvard Glacier in College Fjord.  The glaciers in the area are named for prominent colleges. Don't look for a Princeton glacier, apparently the founders snubbed that college being graduates from Harvard!

This is a picture of my youngest, reading.  He found the library on the boat and spent much of our vacation there.  I packed him 5 books.  He went through those and then finished another 3.  His dad and I were happy to accompany him to the library every day because that was where they served afternoon tea.  Yum!

The final picture is the beach.  You can't see them because my camera is apparently "zoom challenged" but there are baby Harbor Seals sunning themselves with their moms.  How about those mountains tho?  Pretty amazing.  We saw seals, whales, orca, walrus, and porpoise.  The only things I didn't see (and really REALLY wanted to) were Moose and a Grizzly Bear.  Buuut everyone came back rested, and happy.  Two thumbs up for Alaska!

Catch the Bug Challenge: Bingo

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge over on the Catch The Bug Challenge blog.  This week we are playing BING-O!!  Who doesn't like a good game of bingo?!!

I made my bingo diagonally using the colors Teal, Orange and Pink, ribbon and embossing.  I threw some buttons on too just for good measure!  So technically, I made bingo diagonally both ways with my 3-D bow!  Just call me an over-achiever.

I used JJ Housework-Eat Out for my image.  How perfect is she?  I can honestly say that I wish I had a personal chef (wouldn't mind a maid and a masseuse too!)

Head on over to the Catch The Bug blog and play along.  There are ALWAYS great inspirational cards and fantastic prizes to be won.

SSW2-58: DigiStamp Boutique

Welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2's weekly challenge!  Our sponsor this week is Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.  I love her darling images.  This week Sally-Ann is offering the winner a £10 voucher to her store.

I used the set "Cheeky Monkey" to create my card.  What a great set, there are three images in this set ... perfect for the quick Father's Day card that I needed to whip up before leaving. This little cutie will certainly work.

We hope that you stop by and join in the sketch fun this week.

Catch the Bug Challenge: Travel

This week over on the Catch The Bug Challenge blog we want you to think about travel and vacation!  Ahhh, relaxing sounds FABULOUS.  It's kinda appropriate since I am getting ready to leave for MY big vacation.  The boys and I are heading off to Alaska to get us some cold weather fun in the sun.  I'm looking forward to seeing some whales, bears and beautiful nature!

My card features Poppi Penguin.  There are a TON of Poppi images but this guy is my favorite.  How fun is he?!!

So grab your sunglasses and join in the travel fun!

SSWE2-57: DeeDee's Designs

We have some fun going on over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  We have the return of Dee Dee's Designs and a great sketch.

The boys and I are getting ready to take off for our big trip to Alaska any day now.  In order to get ready, I had mounds of laundry to wash, fold and pack and 7 cards and blog posts to write.  Yikes.  That is a lot of creativity to force out in a few short days.

My first card was (to quote my son), "not my favorite." (except HE says it when I place a new Pinterest dinner in front of him)  I decided to show it to you so you could see it.  I think it was the paper choices that made it a bit busy I suppose.

Anyway, I will be back, with lots of pictures of Alaska for you to see.

I hope that YOU will post YOUR picture of a completed card on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 site.  You have the chance to win $15 from the Dee Dee Design site.  Come on' ... what do you have to lose?

Bugaboo Biggest Fan!

Yep, you read that right, I am June's biggest Bugaboo fan.  How exciting and how perfect because I truly do love Jodie's images.

Today's challenge over on the Bugaboo blog is: Anything Goes.  How easy is that one?!! I used her "Hey Chickie" image.  It comes either as line art or colored.  Hope you have a chance to join in the fun!

SSW2-ADFD

It's another Wednesday and that means challenge time over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we are sponsored by A Day For Daisies.  Tammy is offering her usual great prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop.

This week, Sally is inviting our followers to use a bit of creativity when they make their card.  You can use any shape for the center.  I chose a circle.

I'm using Tammy's Boy Kitty for my card.  I giggled when I saw this image.  I have both boys and kitties (well, one) and this would NEVER occur in my house.  My kitty is 17 and cranky (I'm not sure that she would let ME carry her this way.) Doesn't her expression just say, 'you can look, but don't touch me'  Aw, we love her anyway!

I hope that you are inspired to join us for our challenge this week.
